...in bringing "the knowledge, love and hope of the Risen Christ and His Church through [our] communal charity and joyful evangelization." (SMMC Charism)
In the early years of the community, the Sisters began volunteering in schools, sharing their love of Christ and the Church with grade school and pre-school children. We also worked on college campuses and assisted in youth ministry in parishes, assisting teens to understand better Theology of the Body and the truths of their Faith and establishing small school sodalities.
The Sisters have been invited to assist in schools and parishes not only as Directors of Religious Education, youth minsters, school campus ministers and with sacramental preparation, but also as teachers of religion in Catholic schools and even after-school programs that focus on the truths of the Faith. We began working also with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, not only learning and being trained, but being trained to be trainers of levels of this method of teaching from the heart and through personal, hands-on learning, self-directed activity and development of the whole child. (Please refer to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd)
