The Sisters were spiritually united with all Catholics around the world as we commemorated the dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran, our "mother church" and the Cathedral of the Diocese of Rome. We also celebrated this day with our local Church. Gathered together at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, the "mother church" of our diocese, sisters professed temporary and perpetual vows in the presence of the Most Reverend Blase J. Cupich, family and friends, and our diocesan community.
Desiring to unite themselves closer to Christ, three Sisters renewed their consecration to God through temporary profession. This day also marked a historical moment for our community as six Sisters professed perpetual vows and became the first perpetually professed members of the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church (Public Association of the Faithful).
As we dedicated our lives to Christ and His Church through the profession of the evangelical counsels, we also continue our mission of bringing the hope and encouragement of the Risen Christ to all.
