We have been so blessed by the abundant prayers and acts of kindness so generously offered by all of you over the past year. Sr. Consuela's diagnosis was a surprise we (and she!) certainly didn't expect, but as it always is, with each trial comes a sufficient supply of blessings and graces!
Two of those blessings were Sister's oncologist, Dr. Melanie Bergman, MD, and Sister's "angel", Debbie Paulin! It was clear from the beginning that being a patient of Dr. Bergman was not simply luck, but definitely Providential. Her skill and determination offered much hope, and as Sister began her treatments, Debbie, another cancer survivor, became her "angel". Her faithful presence encouraged, inspired and yes, even consoled Sister throughout the months that followed.
We took great delight in the opportunity to host Dr. Bergman, Debbie, and their spouses for a "thanksgiving" dinner!
"I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly" (Jn 10:10).
